Let’s jump on the way back machine for a second here… Back in 2004 when I was writing on Smartphone Thoughts (now rolled into Windows Phone Thoughts), I made an April Fools post about how Sony Ericsson was working on a Windows Mobile device. That was back in 2004 and at the time, nobody really expected it to happen. Flash forward to today, and… Sony Ericsson has confirmed that they are working on a Windows Phone 7 device. Now, I would like to take credit and say this was my idea, but I won’t even if I might have been the one planting the seed in SE’s head.
There’s no information on what will power the phone, or what it will look like, or the ultimate price. Sony Ericsson has a good history of making sharp looking devices with solid radio’s. So we can only hope that this will be the case with the Windows Phone 7 device. I’m looking forward to seeing what Sony Ericsson has up their sleeve. I just hope they don’t screw it up like they did the Android based X10.
