Happy Holidays from Mobile Jaw – What Did Santa Leave You?

As the festive holiday weekend comes to a close and everyone gets ready to return to work – unless you’re one of the lucky few who are off until the new year, we want to hear what gadgets you managed to convince Santa to leave under your tree. My family doesn’t tend to buy gadgets for me anymore.  For some reason they think I’m a hard guy to please when it comes to gadgets.  I’m not sure where that idea comes from. ;) However, I did manage to get some cash, some lottery tickets, and a couple Lego games for the Xbox. I really enjoy playing the Lego series and have had a hard time breaking away from the Xbox these last couple days. Santa did leave a Nintendo Wii for the kids. I will admit to helping the kids get it up and running and even showing them the best way to play. ;)

    I find it hard to think of things people can get me other than gadgets so I just ask for gift certificates to Best Buy. :)

    This year I pooled my gift certs and got a Sony Cyber-shot T90 camera. Best Buy had it at $100 off on Boxing Day.

    Originally I had planned on getting a FlipHD but got thinking how it can *only* do video. I checked reviews and specs and decided on the T90. It is a 12.1MP camera and does HD video as well. The thing is crazy slim too!

    We got my son a PS3 but he didn’t go for the excuse that I need to show him how to use it. Sigh…

    I actually gave away a lot of tech gifts this Christmas, and even though I specifically stated I didn’t want any kind of tech gadgets….they still came in the oddest forms.

    Just some of the things I got were a PSP Go, a Voodoo Envy 133, an HP Photosmart printer and a 300mW Spyder III Pro laser from my friends at Wicked Lasers (with lasershades)…

    I don’t ask for tech gifts because like you guys already know, it’s pretty hard to please a techgeek. And while I can’t say I’ll ever use everything, I think I’ll put on my laser shades and slice some credit cards in half! Oh yeah…

    Oh my! The Voodoo Envy 133 looks fantastic! I guess it better at that price. :P

    I was actually considering either a camera or a netbook but opted for the camera. Maybe I’ll try to get a netbook sometime this year. Course it will probably be a more mundane one like an Acer Aspire One or something. :)

    I got Star Trek 11 on DVD! Oh wait, that’s sci-fi geek and not tech-geek. Wrong type of geek. I bought myself the Logitech Harmony 900 – and it has changed our lives. It’s the kind of tech that makes everything else sooooo much easier.
