Our friends over at Ilium software have been really busy! On Monday they’re releasing a new version of eWallet GO! for Apple’s iPhone devices, along with a new desktop version for Windows based PCs. The new release brings automatic synchronization on iOS and Windows and adds support for landscape on iOS. While the automatic sync features are currently on iOS and Windows, Ilium is quick to note that they are already working on some of the other platforms as well.

And because having new versions isn’t enough, Ilium is also kicking off a big Back to School sale starting on Monday. Fro a limited time, eWallet GO! for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone will be priced at just $0.99. That means you can pickup the premier digital wallet program for just a dollar! At the same time, the desktop version of eWallet (for Windows and Mac) will be free. So you can outfit all your devices, and all of your friends for next to nothing. Once the new auto-sync features make it over to the other platforms, I’ll be able to keep my eWallet sync’ed on every device and desktop I use – that’s pretty impressive.

If you’re not familiar with Ilium, or their eWallet GO! application, I strongly suggest you head over to their web site and read about it. These guys have been doing secure information management on mobile devices since 1997. Check them out!

Built upon the same AES 256-bit encryption that they’ve been using for years, Ilium has now released eWallet GO! for Windows Phone 7 powered devices. Available through the Marketplace for $4.99, eWallet GO! offers over 30 card templates and backup support through Google Docs or DropBox. If you’re not familiar with eWallet, it’s a digital wallet where you can place any and all your important information like credit card numbers, email account details, drivers license, health card, etc… Each card template has a different layout and fields. So a health card template would store different information than a passwords template. Of course, all the information is secure behind the password you define when the wallet is created.

I’m not sure how the backup features work on Windows Phone devices. Last time I checked, I don’t recall there being a DropBox client. My guess would be that the eWallet application uploads it to a secure DropBox folder or something. Regardless, I would be so incredibly lost by now if it wasn’t for my eWallet. I’m pretty excited to see that Ilium has released this for Windows Phone devices and I can’t wait to give it a try. Check out the eWallet GO! product page to learn more, or download the app on your Windows Phone device and give it a try.

Ilium has just released their latest update of eWallet. Version 7 offers a number of new features and changes, including how you buy the application. With version 7 you can use eWallet on any supported device at no extra cost. As Ilium says on the release page – Because when you buy or upgrade eWallet, it’s for you, not your device. As someone that changes devices on a fairly regular basis, this is a welcome change.

Here’s a quick list of some of the hot new features in eWallet 7:

Use AutoPass with Firefox

Great new look on Windows PCs

Personalize eWallet from a selection of styles and backgrounds

Quickly access your most used wallets

Keep eWallet ready when you need it

Support for Windows 7

Improved remote sync

Updated printing support

and so much more

I was lucky enough to be involved with the beta of version 7. As such, I have been using the new version for a while now and the new interface has really changed how I use the application. No longer will the window close when the wallet times out. Now, the app stays open and running, but the wallet locks. While this may sound minor to some people, the time saved from clicking through to re-launch the application adds up. Now it’s very easy to select the wallet and unlock it. Existing customers can upgrade for the low price of $10. The upgrade details can be found over here.

For more information on how to download, upgrade, or use, check out Ilium’s website at: www.iliumsoftware.com

Ilium Software has been celebrating their 12th anniversary this week. All week long they’ve been offering a discount on all of their products. You can save $12 off any purchase over $12 – how cool is that?! Head on over to this page on their website for all the details and to select what products you want to buy. I’ve been using eWallet since forever. It’s a great app, just like all of Ilium’s applications, and I recommend it to everyone.

And my apologies to Ilium (especially Julie) for not posting this earlier. They sent me all the details last weekend, but I’ve been so busy this week that I totally forgot about this until now. I hope the celebration has been great!

While I was away on vacation, one of my all time favorite and must have applications was updated – eWallet. The latest version is now 6.1 and is a free update for people with version 6.0. If you’re running the older version 5, then there is a small upgrade fee. I’ve been running a private beta version for a good couple weeks and it’s been solid and bug free for me.

So what’s new? Well, there’s a number of enhancements in this point release. A more exhaustive list can be found over here – although, I’m pretty sure that’s not the complete list. Anyway, the cool new features that I care about are the improved performance on a Smartphone device. It’s now worlds easier to navigate and edit fields from your non-touch screen Windows Mobile device. Ilium has also added the ability to customize the fields in your card – so you can have multiple hidden values now.

And if none of the improvements here seem like enough reason for you to upgrade, that’s cool. Ilium is working on 6.2 and maybe that one will have the features you’ve been looking for. Speaking of features, I would love to see a seamless over-the-air file sync for my eWallet file. I realize this doesn’t have to be done by Ilium, but it’s a killer feature that I would love to see. Besides that, I think it would be awesome to have a Windows Sidebar gadget that lets me quickly open a wallet. What kind of features would you guys like to see added to your eWallet?
