Sony Mobile’s newest smartphone comes with a cool new feature – resistance to both dust and water. The Xperia go packs an awesome IP67 ratings, which means this smartphone is totally dust proof and it is protected against the effects of immersion in water up to 1 meter for a period of 30 minutes. With that level of water protection, the Xperia go should be able to withstand the majority or todays water damage issues. Don’t worry, water and dust proof isn’t the only good features of the Xperia go. It also scratch resistant glass display!
Awesome water and dust resistance aside, the Xperia go is powered by Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with a 1GHz dual core processor, 9.8mm thin, 110 grams, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, 3.5” Reality display featuring the Mobile BRAVIA engine, 8GB of internal storage with a MicroSD slot for the addition or extra storage space.
You can grab the Xperia go from Fido in black or white, or there is a limited edition yellow available exclusively from the Sony Stores across Canada. The yellow version is an unlocked and un-subsidized version, so it will cost you more but you won’t have to sign a new cellular contract to get it.
The Xperia go looks like a decent feature set with some super nice protection with the water and dust resistance. The only thing left is protection from accidental drops on concrete. Maybe Sony can add that in version 2.
