Last week we told you about the pending release and pre-order availability of the Samsung Galaxy SIII Android smartphone. According to Samsung, they have seen unprecedented demand for the SIII, with over 9 million devices pre-ordered by carriers. Unfortunately, the large demand means that Samsung has pushed back the availability date for Canada. Instead of June 20th, the Galaxy SIII will now ship on June 27th. Samsung expects to ramp up manufacturing to help match the demand and they expect the shortage to be short lived. The delay is for all Canadian carriers that are carrying the phone including Bell, Rogers, Telus, and Wind.
If you’ve pre-ordered a Galaxy SIII, then this news must be a little disappointing. Its never fun to be told that something you’re looking forward to is not ready when it was originally promised. Thankfully it’s not any longer of a delay.
