Nokia Windows Phone Not Coming to Canada Until 2012

Did you like the new Windows Phone that Nokia showed off at Nokia World? Are you ready to drop your hard earned cash to get one? Well, don’t get too worked up. It doesn’t look like Canada, or the US will be getting either of these devices anytime soon. From what Stephen Elop said at the conference, it looks like North America won’t be getting these new devices until “early” in 2012.  That means the best case scenerio is 60 days. However, it’s highly unlikely that these will magically land as we roll into the new year. More than likely it won’t be until the end of January to late February before we see a carrier offering either of these devices. :-(

It’s hard to complain when the Canadian carriers have really started to move quickly with launching Android devices. Very often they are launching here before they hit in the US. Even so, it’s hard when you see a device that you really want and the only way to get it is to order it from the UK and pay expensive shipping and duty. We’ll be keeping an eye out for these devices to make their way over to North America, and once they do we will be here to let you know.

I agree completely with the leading Canadian carriers like Rogers Wireless presently offering a selection of 8 various android phones and Nokia though quiet a few like Nokia Sabre, Nokia Ace, Nokia Sun have made some jingle in the Canadian market, they are yet to be surfaced. We are all ears to know when is Nokia’s turn again!

Leading Canadian carriers like Bell and Telus so on are busy with their Android versions of mobile phones. The WP however, has promised an additional 500 features to content the users. But the late release in Canada is regretted, as all of us want to know, experience and analyze the device with their Android counterparts!

The wait is on for the WP since it surfaced in the mobile space. With Mango having a 500 plus features, the user affection for using the device is obvious. Would want to hear the feedback with this device! Thanks for the mention.
