Android Update for Sprint’s HTC Hero

MobileJaw-HtcHero-Android21

If you have a HTC Hero on the Sprint network, then today is your lucky day. Sprint and HTC have released Android 2.1 update for the Hero. That means you can flash your phone, without the hassle of rooting the device, and enjoy the latest and greatest version of Android. It may have taken a while, and they skipped over a couple versions, but getting the update is still miles better than being left in the dark. You can download the Android upgrade directly from the HTC website, along with the upgraded version of HTC’s Sync software.

If you’re on the Sprint network and have updated your Hero, please let us know how the update went and if you’ve noticed any issues. I’m still waiting for Telus to release the upgrade for their Hero. Here’s hoping it comes before Windows Phone 7 ships this holiday season.
