While it’s not something that you want to do on a regular basis, you may find that you need to reset your device back to the way it was when you pulled it out of the box. If you are selling or have just purchased a used device, you should really consider wiping the device clean before doing anything with it.
The following steps will guide you through the wipe process. Make sure you have backed up everything you don’t want to lose before you perform the wipe!
- From the home screen, tap on the arrow to open the application drawer
- Scroll down the list of applications and tap on Settings
- Scroll down, locate About and tap on it
- At the bottom of the about screen you will find a button labeled “reset your phone”. Tapping on this will wipe your phone clean and reset it back to the manufacturers default configuration. If you’re sure you want to do this, tap the button and you’re on your way!
Just be careful and keep in mind that all of your customizations and applications will be wiped from the phone. Any application that you may have purchased is connected to your Live account so you won’t have to re-purchase the application. However, you will have to re-download the applications.
